A new adventure!

Today Emily and I joined a couples golf league! We were a little nervous about this adventure, but after going to the organizational meeting today (where there was free beer and snacks!), our fears were calmed. This is a fun league with no handicaps, and a very relaxed format. Each week there is a different game, and you are matched up with other couples, many of whom live in the same complex where we will soon be living. Emily even made friends with the older couple who is running the league, and happens to be our neighbor. The league starts next week and the game for next week is "par 3 contest". On every whole except for the par 3's you will tee off from the 150 yard marker turning the whole course into par 3's. It will be a fun experience and it starts next Sunday and runs through September. You play every Sunday that you can be there at 3 'oclock. Grandma von Philp has agreed to watch Camey while we are out chasing the little round ball. As you can imagine, we really had to twist her arm!! It should be a lot of fun and we look forward to having a sure 2 hours of fun set aside each week for "us".

This last week also maked the first week of babysitting for grandma Compan, as I am back to work full time now. We never really had any doubts about her skills, but Grandma C has done a great job, and at times it seems like our little girls loves her two grandma's more than she loves her dear ol dad! I know how much they love spending time with Camey and we are lucky to have such great parents who are willing to help us out, so thank you grandmas!

We are in the final stretch of days until moving into our new house, we have had a few bites on this house, but nothing concrete yet. We are hoping to have it sold as soon as possible, and we can't wait to show you all our new digs!!! A side note, we are looking to baptize McCamey and Emily both soon. We think that possibly mothers day. So if you would like to join us at church that day we would love to have you!!!

  1. Wow, Jeff! Lots of news in this blog. Very cool, re: golf league. You guys are so on top of things to have a weekly time for yourselves. David and I could take a cue from you... if only our folks lived a few hours closer. :) Let me know when you definitely decide on mother's day. If I can make it, I'll be there!

  2. How fun for you and Emily! I am sure you will love that.

I am sorry we won't be able to see any baptisms. Let us know when they happen, however. We will send our good wishes.
